Although everyone in the world seems to think that cats are independent creatures, we, as cat owners, know better. Cats are not independent. They only want people to think so, so their world takeover plans won't be jeopardized. We, their servants, get a glimpse into the actual reality, and the reality is that cats are heckin' spoiled. Now, that might be our fault. We are the ones who keep spoiling them. But we can't stop ourselves! No matter what we do for them, not matter how much we spoil them, our cats are always grumpy.
We swear, our cats know the power they have over us. They're just going it on purpose to get us to give them more things. How else can you explain cats being so spoiled and grumpy at the same time? It's like they're children. Worse, it's like they're like disparaged Victorian children, and it seems that the rest of the internet agrees.

It's ameowzing how much power these little creatures have over us. They will annoy us and cause trouble all day every day, doing all the things that they know we don't allow them to do, but once they need anything - even the smallest thing - they will turn these eyes toward us, and we will melt. Anything for you, cat, anything for you.
Makes sense. Everything has to happen with our cat's explicit permission, and you never asked whether you could move your cat or not. It's your fault that this cat is about to throw a temper tantrum, don't you understand? Pssh. Silly human servant.
