Hey, friends. Allow us to introduce you to the 'not my cat' phenomenon. Have you ever come across a cat who was indefinitely not yours? Perhaps they were in close quarters, even somehow appearing in your bathroom while you were busy taking care of business. Perhaps they slipped into your home through the cat door you had meant to close years ago but promptly abandoned. It happens more frequently than one would think!
Encountering a 'not my cat' unfolds as a uniquely delightful experience. Initially, it warms the heart—a sense of being chosen and honored as the temporary haven for the feline's fleeting visit. Enjoy this purrfectly silly collection of 'not my car' moments in which humans were blessed with an unexpected feline guest.
"She's a lovely little tortoiseshell girl, can't be more than a year old and is really affectionate.
I checked her over and as she seemed cold and a bit thin I've made her up a bed in our outhouse and given her some food and water."
"If she's still around in the morning, I'll take her to the vet and get her chip read.
We don't need a third cat!!"
"Visits almost every day, stays for an hour or so, very cuddly, demands snaccs every time."
The neighbours cat has figured out that, when my own cat is about to go out through the chip activated cat flap, there is a clicking noise. When he hears the click he seizes his chance and come bursting in to the kitchen. And that is why, on occasion, I wake up to a stranger in my bed.
"He just hangs out with us now and again. My dog, who loves cats, doesn't know what to make of him because this kitty loves my dog and my dog is really confused. I'm going to call him Orcus."
"Sat outside at a new restaurant in my town. This little fella was hanging out getting scratches and table scraps! Will be going back (just for the cat)"
"Not my cat but I would do anything for that face"
