Gaming, like anything, is all about how you approach it. You get out what you put in. If you log 1000 hours in a game, sure you might be a master at that game, but perhaps things have slipped from your real life. If you only log on once in a blue moon, you might be laughed out of the chat, but perhaps you have a thriving social life. It's all about balance. And there's nothing inherently wrong with choosing the gamer life. There's plenty to be gained from it. Mental sharpness, decision-making, analytical skills, and fine motor skills if nothing else.
Don't let anyone get you down for being a gamer, though we all know they will try. But hey, don't hate the player, hate the game. And then send them these memes and maybe that will make them change their attitude. Or at the very least… you'll get them.
