It is completely understandable to want to complain about a poorly done service. When someone pays for a service, they should be left with a satisfied feeling, and not feeling like they have been mistreated or wronged. What is not completely understandable, is people resorting to lying when something does not go their way. If you are not happy about the way things are done, feel free to complain, but what good does it do if you lie? The only thing it does is damage your credibility.
That is why I don't get the hotel guest in this Reddit story. He called the front desk complaining that his room had not been cleaned, which is honestly a valid complaint. Then, even after the front desk clerk explained what could be done, the guest was still unsatisfied and said he would call corporate. Okay, still a valid request. After a while, corporate calls the clerk and tells them that a complaint has been filed about them since the guest said they yelled at him and hung up the phone… Now that is where the guest lost me. Does he not remember that these types of phone calls are usually being recorded? What good does lying do?
