Terrible elementary school teacher embarrassed in front of students Way back in my elementary school days, one of the grade 3 teachers was the absolute worst. She was also the part time librarian, but it was clear that she hated kids. I have no idea what she was doing teaching, but I guess she had been doing it long enough that she was actually getting paid well. Either way, it was rare for a kid to leave her class without having cried at some point. For me it was when I asked a classmate a ques

Anyway, onto the revenge. It's petty, even for the petty revenge subreddit. One day we had some presenters come in to teach the kids from several classes about proper hygiene. At one point several students and a teacher were asked to come up to participate in a demonstration. I volunteered, and I think the teacher was asked. She must have agreed to do it as some sort of way to make it seem like she was supportive of anything, or something like that.

So anyway, we all had this spray or something put onto our hands, which was invisible except under a black light. Then we were told to go wash our hands, and we would see how much of that spray was left over after. I was determined to make sure that I got it all, so I scrubbed my hands like crazy.

When we got back, the presenters shined a black light onto all of our hands. Mine were nearly spotless, except for a little under my nails, and possibly a bit on my wrists. But the problem teacher had missed so much. I mostly recall that she had completely missed cleaning between her fingers, but I'm sure there was more.

The presenters complimented the students on their hand washing skills, and told the teacher that she needed to practice her hand washing. It wasn't even really revenge, but to all the seven/eight year olds that were constantly being yelled at by this teacher, it was very satisfying.

And bonus revenge story about the same teacher: One year we did a fundraiser for something, and if we paid something like five dollars, then we got to place a piece of duct tape over one of three different teachers. They were standing on one of the benches (maybe a foot off the ground), and after the event was over they pulled the bunches out to see how long the teachers would stay stuck to the wall. Two of the teachers fell instantly. You can guess which teacher hung there for a while. I think

. NPHighview 14 hr. ago I (her father) volunteered a lot at our daughter's elementary school, as my workplace was right around the corner, we lived nearby, and I loved the involvement. I chaperoned field trips, helped with band competitions, judged science fairs, etc.

One day, I entered the school, registered at the front desk as usual, exchanged hellos with the principal, and strolled down the hallway to my daughter's class for a pre- arranged activity. As I neared the room, I saw a little kid sitting outside the door, weeping. I heard the teacher shrieking at the top of her lungs at her 4th grade class. Without making my presence known, I immediately turned around, walked back to the office, grabbed the principal, and we both walked back to the classroom.

My daughter and her class had a different teacher for the rest of the year. I don't know what they did with the teacher, but I heard rumors that because of teacher contracts, they sent such people to a "rubber room" for the rest of their contract term. They'd sit there, being paid, but not inflicting harm on wonderful young kids.

Our daughter's 5th grade teacher was absolutely delightful, and she recovered from the experience with no long lasting effects.

LongjumpingFix5801 · 18 hr. ago Is third grade just the year they throw the teachers that hate kids? Mine was terrible. Always joked the broom in the classroom closet was her transportation. Thanks for living the dream for those of us who didn't get revenge on those that never should have been teachers

afyvarra OP 8 hr. ago 3rd year must be the initiation into the real world. Gotta get those kids used to it at a young age.

SisGMichael . 11 hr. ago My 3rd grade teacher was also awful, my mom had to go to the principal to make her put me in a seat up front due to really bad vision. Idk how or why they let her keep teaching, but in 4th grade she was teaching kindergarten. Those poor kids. you Mrs Turner

afyvarra OP 8 hr. ago It must be because when these people started teaching, it was actually a well paid job, with good benefits and everything. So people who really shouldn't be working with kids went into that field hljust for the pay. That or they became incredibly jaded and irritated over time. It seems like most of the stories of bad teachers I've heard of were of older teachers. The one in my story was probably in her 50s.

00 P4ddyC4ke 3 hr. ago I concur. What is is with 3rd grade teachers... here's my little story. My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Montgomery, assigned us a group project. Living in Louisiana, we had to design and build a model of a Mardi Gras float that represents our state. Well our group decided to pick the Mississippi River bridge. To us, it was a prominent fixture in our capital city. Our teacher had to approve of our idea, and she did. So we built our little bridge, complete with hot wheels driving

That was when she said, but there's bridges across the Mississippi river all over the place, not just Louisiana. I mean, I get that as an adult, but to 3rd graders... plus she approved the idea. When she handed out grades, she gave me a B and the rest of the group an A.

Being so young, I didn't know to speak up for myself, so instead there was just this crushed 3rd grader that didn't understand. It wasn't until my adult life that I happened to talk about this story with my Mom. She used to work as the secretary in the office of this little private school, and my teacher, Mrs. Montgomery, didn't like her and didn't get along with her... Her personal vendetta with my Mom, affected the way she treated a little 3rd grade kid. What a pathetic legacy to leave behind.
