If I had the opportunity to go to space, I don't know if I would. Sure, it'd be cool to see our world from far, far, away and get all existential and stuff, but I get vaguely nervous on planes. I'm not sure how well I'd do in a journey out of the literal atmosphere. I feel like it would be bumpy, scary, and probably make me nauseous. But that's exactly why I'm not an astronaut. There's plenty for me to explore on this planet. But I do appreciate the movies, books, and TV shows that let me feel like I'm an astronaut without ever leaving the home.
Movies like Interstellar, Gravity, and The Martian allow me to experience a world outside my own, and some of them feel super realistic. Though Gravity is kind of exactly why I don't want to do it IRL. But thank goodness for Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
