Remember when it seemed like everyone started making bread in 2020? A lot of us had time, kitchens, and a desire to do something that would take our mind off… things. People were picking up hobbies left and right. I started learning how to make cocktails (it was a fortuitous hobby at that time). My best friend started learning how to crochet.
But a startlingly large number of people started making sourdough. If I remember correctly, there was even a flour shortage because of it. I never broached that task, but boy do I enjoy eating it. And watching people make it. There's something so soothing and satisfying about watching bread and water and yeast become something beautiful, whole, and delicious. Hats off to all the breadmakers out there, because I know it's not easy. The one time I made focaccia (one of the easiest breads to make) it took me the whole day. These memes are for the bakers who stuck it out.
