We've all had one of those coworkers who's always looking over your shoulder, waiting for you to screw up. I would understand this behavior if they were a supervisor or manager paid to ensure that the people working under them are not dilly-dallying, but that's often not the case. More frequently, this is the doing of a genuine busybody who can't focus on bettering themselves, so they have to bother others with their foolishness. No generation is more willing and able to engage with this than the Baby Boomers. I don't know if it's because they believe their age automatically gives them the knowledge and authority of a manager or a supervisor, or they want someone to criticize to itch an internal scratch. Whatever the cause, this exact scenario played out with the coworker of a young woman. The boomer coworker criticized her for using basic keyboard shortcuts, which she claimed was against company policy. What a joke.
