Not every woman dreams of proposals and wedding bells. Even if as a kid, you liked imagining yourself walking down the aisle in a wedding dress, as you grow older, you might realize that your dreams look a bit different, and that is totally okay.  What I do think is super important, is communicating your wants and needs to your partner, assuming you have one, and not letting anything be left unsaid when it comes to your shared future. 

The couple in this Reddit story, let everything be left unsaid in their relationship. After 12 years of dating, they still didn't talk about what they expected from their relationship and their future together. No talk about marriage, no talk about kids, nothing. But even if it might not surprise you that when the boyfriend decided to finally propose, he was faced with a hard 'no', it still surprised him, and so he turned to Reddit seeking for advice.
