When you're a kid, your birthday is the most important thing in the world. You spend months tossing and turning about the theme of your party, and once it finally arrives, you can't contain your excitement. The best thing about your childhood birthday is that the day is truly all about you, and nobody can take that away from you.
For some kids, their birthdays might feel like an extraordinary celebration of the self, but that's not the case for everyone. Some kids are twins and triplets and are forced to share everything, even a birthday! Others might have the same birthday as their non-identical/fraternal siblings; I knew a brother and sister growing up who had the same birthday three years apart! In this story, the connection is a little less close. Three siblings shared the same birth month, and although their mom approved of a combined party, she would not abide by celebrating individually on their respective birthdays.
