‘You don’t get to name our baby’: Mother-in-law Expects to Have a Say in Her Grandchild’s Name, Despite Not Supporting Her Son and His Wife

Welcome internet goers and women around the world. Getting married, enmeshing families, and having babies can be all too complicated. Handling one's own family can be a nightmare, but someone else's? That could definitely create some waves. 

From first kisses to putting a ring on your finger, there's a lot that could happen. Ideally when one is dating, they want their significant other's parents to like them too. Then after that, developing a close relationship and bond is crucial. There also has to be some boundaries, like with anything in life. For instance, if you're having a baby, it's obviously the parent's choice what the baby's name will be. There's a certain intrusion of privacy if a parent-in-law thinks they have first choice…kind of delusional, right? Sorry lady, but you already had kids and got to name them. It's someone else's turn now. Naming your baby is a critical and creative part of the process of having kids.
