It's not a secret that Harry's dad wasn't the kindest teenager. Hormones and Hogwarts… well, you know how that goes down. It's tough to be a Muggle teenager, so I can't imagine what it's like to be a Wizard or a Witch. To be fair, I'd assume that puberty is an awful period of your life, regardless. One Potterhead took to Reddit to express frustration with James Potter. They were reading the Harry Potter series for the first time and were shocked at James's behavior.
