You'd think being the grocery store employee who hands out free samples of food would be a pretty sweet job. No retail job is safe from the crazy customers of the world. But there are few things more universally adored than free food.
If you go to certain grocery stores on weekends or at certain hours, some provide free samples all over the store. You can walk between the aisles and sample what are usually the weirdest foods you can think of. I've sampled a strange brownie-flavored dessert hummus before, and you know what? It was great. Last week I tried a cheese that was infused with everything bagel seeds. It was pretty good. It gives us all a chance to try some new food, and then probably never buy that product. But still, we got to try it, and that makes the grocery shopping experience a little more fun. If you go to the right store, like some of the big-box chains, you can make an entire meal out of these samples, since they often plant their sampler on the ends of every aisle.
This person, u/DarkSmarts, seems to be great at their job. They're extra friendly, but their coworker is a real grouch. It's so bad that this worker refers to her as "Grimace."
