'Everyone knows they're practically married': Girlfriend stands up for herself and walks out of boyfriend's work event after finding out he has a 'work wife'

When we spend so much of our time at work, we're bound to have friendships with some of our coworkers. Whether you like your coworkers or not, you're stuck with them. In the best-case scenario, you have great coworkers who are easy to become friends with. You have newfound friends in your life to go out to lunch with, stop by a happy hour with, or gossip about other coworkers with. But how do you feel about 'work spouses'? You know, the work-wife, work-husband trend. I'd say if neither party is in a relationship, it's alright. It may be a little weird, but you're not harming anyone. But if you're in a committed relationship and also have a work spouse, that's definitely pushing your limits. Many people in the comments argued that it's disrespectful to your partner. Well, the boyfriend in this story isn't helping his case at all. Not only had he never mentioned a work-wife to his partner, she had never heard anything about her at all. I can't imagine having a work bestie and not saying anything about them to my partner. Some people in the comments think the coworkers were trying to bluntly warn the girlfriend about their close relationship. The boyfriend's reaction definitely doesn't help his case.
