"We thought getting her a confident kitten might help her heal her inner kitten."
There are many reasons why someone can struggle with anxiety. It's not easy to shake off that past trauma. This is even true for cats! Many rescued kitties come from scary pasts. It's not easy being on the streets. Feral cats become feral for a reason. Not all feral cats are feral forever, though. Some get rescued and through a lot of love and patience, are able to become loving and trusting of humans. Nala is one of those cats. She was found feral but was able to become comfortable with her new home. However, she was still very anxious and fearful. Her family tried everything to help her gain confidence, but nothing was working.
Until they had the bright idea to introduce her to a confident kitten. That's right, they got Nala her very own emotional support kitten, and guess what—it worked! They named her Lylla and she joined the family with no fear. Nala, who used to be afraid of everything, especially any remotely enclosed places, was observing this kitten doing everything with ease. She started realizing that doing certain things she was afraid of, like sleeping in her cat bed, wasn't going to harm her, because she saw Lylla doing them. Now, Lylla and Nala are birds of a feather and will forever be each other's emotional support besties.
