When it comes to what kind of childhood most parents desire for their kids, having friends is usually featured on that list. You can't expect somebody to grow up into a well-adjusted person without some serious exposure to how unbalanced everybody else is. However, it's also true that there are plenty of parents who hope that their children will show some discernment with who they choose to hang around with. They can't be encouraged by bad influences, after all.
For some moms and dads, training their kids in this way starts young, as demonstrated in a recent viral tweet. A father at a playground told his toddler child that the other kids there "don't deserve you saying hello to them", leading to plenty of amusing responses on the former bird app. It takes a lot of effort to be a snob, and it has to start from a tender age.
