This hire began his new position and realized that there was growing resentment from some of his new colleagues. Why, you may ask? As it turns out, everyone else in the office had to begin work at 8:00 am sharp, while the new guy was regularly waltzing in at 9:00 am. That's not because the new hire was always running late, as some of his coworkers likely suspected. He actually thought he was following the rules, and based on his contract, he was. His hours were clearly stated to be a 9:00 am to 5:00 pm gig. Nothing more, nothing less.
So when his boss tried to switch things up on him and convince him to come in earlier, the new hire was fully prepared to take out that contract and show him the fine print.
