ConsuelaApplebee . 3h ago I don't see a problem. Left side is for Georgians, right side is for drinks in Zinc cups. Middle is for all the meh drinks people order. 297 Reply Active-Bass4745 • 2h ago I think the middle belongs to Mata Hari. 22 ☐ Reply + More replies

dabunny21689 · 3h ago Separation between the letter groups made more distinct by having them in reverse order? .... Nah I don't get it. It's not like there are regularly 30-40 orders out at a time where you'd need any real level of organizing, certainly not to the point of needing labels, let alone labels like these that would have folks questioning whether they understood the alphabet. → 43 ⇓ Reply

mnchls 3h ago Edited 2h ago I agree that the order is stupid, but there are indeed locations with such a high volume of mobile orders that necessitate some degree of organization. I've worked some super busy stores with insaaane rushes. 35 ☐ Reply thesquatz 2h ago • I don't even understand why the one by my house is so busy but every morning I walk by, the online order counter is literally completely filled with online orders. Definitely at least 40- 50 drinks just sitting there waiting to be pi

EternityTheory • 3h ago My guess is that these labels were designed for a counter facing the other direction, so that it'd start Z-N, then M-H, then with G-A furthest to the right and closest to the edge. That way they'd at least line up in sequence. ↑ 41 Reply

kvlle 3h ago • Definitely made to be placed Z-A in reverse, but I'd go even further and guess that this set is intended as a reference to be placed behind the server side of the counter and there is a reverse (normal A-Z) set intended for the customer side + 40 40 Reply ...

knoxblox 2h ago This is it. Probably designed for stores where Z-N is placed on the counter furthest away from the barista since these will have the least number of drinks 453 ☐ Reply

This is actually kind of intelligent and is probably how a computer would design an information interface if asked to present the most valuable bits of information first. Assuming it's obvious at a glance that this is an alphabetical sort in the first place, putting "A" first doesn't tell you anything new. If your name is George, the information you need is "A through what?" and the difference between "A through G" and "A through F" is more valuable than knowing the

The same is true in the second batch. If your name is Nathan, you need to know "H through what?" more importantly than you need to know what the second batch started with; who cares if that was G, H, or whatever. With that said, Z-N, while it conforms to the pattern of putting the end-of-range letter first, does not actually impart information more efficiently by doing so. On the contrary, N-Z would be more efficient because you can see immediate what the beginning of that range is, while it sho

OfTheAshTree62 • 1h ago Omg this reminds me of the fact that my husband says number ranges backward. Like he'll say there's "a 40-25% chance of rain today." Or, "that'll take like 30-15 minutes." It's just as mildly infuriating as these backward labels. And super confusing sometimes. 4 1 3 ☐ Reply
