Anime Fans Discuss: Which Villain Could You Successfully Defend in a Court of Law?

Welcome, anime fans and stans. We all love a good villain or antihero. When you're hanging out with your otaku friends, eating ramen and sipping on boba tea, it's pretty easy to play devil's advocate and defend your favorite baddie, but what if you were a lawyer, and you had to defend an anime antagonist in a court of law? Your arguments might change, then, as you devise a strategy for your 2D defendant. How much evidence did that character leave behind of their crimes in the anime, or are they crazy enough to be considered 'not guilty by reason of insanity?' Some characters on this list might actually be intelligent enough engineer their own win in a court case with your help as a lawyer. Let the record show that when Buu absorbed someone good, he changed on a WHIM. This man literally only knew how to fight, destroy, and kill, so why are we surprised that he ONLY did those things? He ended all wars on Earth. For perspective, the war in Ukraine alone has claimed 462,000-728,000 lives. Crime was reduced by 70% and if it was 70% fewer murders, he saves 600,000 murder victims a year. He's killed thousands but saved millions. So yeah, if I defend one, I'm choosing Light as well.
