After a little over a year of homeownership in his new neighborhood, OP and his partner started noticing a few HOA nuances that were frankly ruining the neighborhood. Although their annual fees were meager, the $350/year went to the 'maintenance' of a tiny shed on the property where the HOA would conduct their business. Apart from that, the HOA served no purpose but to harass the homeowners who owned the properties in their neighborhood.
