Entitled neighbor demands family to extend the wall between their homes or she'll report them to the city, despite the family already having replaced the rotted wall

When you move anywhere, unless you own multiple acres of land, you're signing up to share a block with a neighbor. Even if you think you might be on the best of terms with your block buddy, things might turn sour when you realize they are trying to blame you for things that you have no control over, and eventually trying make you spend a pretty penny to soften out their edges.

If you're considering making much-needed changes to your property that are well within the city limits, you shouldn't have to consult with your neighbor. The worst that can happen is they disagree with your choices, but luckily, they aren't the ones who own the property it sits on.

The original poster (OP) of this story is dealing with an entitled neighbor who thinks that she can report them for putting up a durable wall divider between their two homes. To specify, OP's old wall was rotted wood, and they opted for a stone wall instead that will prove to be much more durable. This wall is only a bit shorter than the previous one, but the neighbor is urging them to extend the wall or she'll report them to the city. The neighbor claims she "already ha[s] rivers running through" her yard, but OP mentions that all homes have a drainage ditch. The neighbor just doesn't clean hers out well enough for it to make a noticeable difference.
