Maybe, they even knock on your door with a sound that shares the likeness of the authorities to let you know they have your mail. At all hours of the night and day. Repeatedly. At that point, they're no longer doing you a service, but rather inconveniencing you while you're trying to get some shut-eye.
The bottom line: don't touch anyone's mail. That's not your job, that's the mailman's, and you could sign yourself up for some time if you mess with the wrong person.
