Sometimes, life events and medical diagnoses prevent you from staying on top of the smaller things like housework and lawn work. Luckily, there are services available to help us out when we can't help ourselves. Instead of risking our lower backs to keep our lawns looking crispy and healthy, we can hire the fellas that do this for a living. It's a win-win situation until you start getting misled and cheated by the service that's supposed to make your life that much easier. Well, some services are better than others, unfortunately, and this story is solid proof.
The homeowner in this story had a string of events that had prevented him from keeping up with his lawn care. However, he expressed he didn't "want to be" that neighbor who has a gross-looking lawn and didn't practice regular upkeep. So, he hires a lawn mowing service that advertises a "one-time cut". Sounds perfect. Come to find out, this service had a "three-cut minimum." The original poster (OP) expresses that he should've turned back once this occurred.
Over the course of multiple days, the mowing company refuses to mow his lawn for a multitude of reasons. Some wanted more money given the height of the homeowner's grass (not high at all.) Others were simple no-shows. Each time the OP tried to cancel because it wasn't worth it at this point, he was met with pushback because of this "three-cut minimum." So, he schedules his next appointment for over 20 years later. One commenter explains this was a tasteful case of "mowlicious compliance" and they're not wrong. Scroll to read the entire story.
