Struggling Law Student Refuses to Attend Careless Sister's Engagement Party After She's Pressured to Give An Immediate RSVP, Decides to Prioritize Her Studies Instead
Being in law school is no joke. Especially as a first year, you're getting acclimated to a completely different structure of learning than what you were used to in undergrad. Life during this time might feel a bit turbulent, especially if you particularly struggled while earning your bachelor's degree.
The only thing that can make matters worse is when you throw an entitled sister into the mix! Some family members will never understand that the world doesn't revolve around them. It's our job to remind them, especially when they promise to show up for us and let us down time and time again. Sister relationships are no different—they just might be a bit more catty and passive-aggressive. Two can play at that game, right ladies?
The woman in this Reddit story is a new law school student and expresses that she struggled greatly in her undergraduate studies. She's worked hard to build herself back up from a dark place but is still worried about falling back there. She's taken to extra studying and surviving off of her student loans so she can prioritize her academics and further catapult herself into her career. The woman's sister can't seem to understand that. The woman refuses to go to the party for multiple reasons: She can't really afford it, and her sister has let her down more times than she can count.
