This cosmetic store worker couldn't believe their ears when they heard the salary this nurse requested.
All respect in the world to nurses: they do a difficult job while keeping calm and helping patients who aren't always in the best state of mind. While doctors get a lot of the credit, nurses take on extra tasks and do a great job at keeping their patients cared for. They deserve to make a million dollars per hour, and while they aren't paid quite that much, a lot of nurses have a lucrative career.
That's why it was so baffling that this nurse decided to take a second job at a place that only pays slightly above minimum wage. Some people need second jobs to get by. But if your wages are around $55 per hour, wouldn't it make more sense to just pick up more hours at your own job, instead of working somewhere you'll make $17.50 per hour? The nurse interviewing to work at a cosmetic store explained that she liked to shop at this store, and thought it'd make for a pleasant weekend job. Well… maybe she didn't think it through enough, as the hiring manager had to spell out for her why her expectations weren't realistic.
