Business owner tracked me down at my workplace after I left a 1 star review.

A few months ago, I was driving home in very heavy traffic after a long weekend here in Australia. It seems like myself, and the rest of
  • 04
the population had all been on holiday and were trying to get home. Along the way, I experienced some crazy
  • 05
drivers doing stupid things. One particular vehicle was tailgating, cutting people off when changing lanes, and swerving between lanes
  • 06
constantly trying to get ahead. Multiple times I witnessed others, including myself, have to slam on breaks to avoid accidents because of his dangerous driving.
  • 07
It riled me up, and made me even more stressed and angry on the drive than I was already feeling thanks to the speed dropping to a crawl with all the traffic ect.
  • 08
The car was plastered with business details - including name, phone, website. When I got home, I searched it on Google and left a 1 star
  • 09
review. I admit, it was petty, but I moved on and forgot about the whole thing.

Yesterday, I received an email to my work address from this business owner asking about why I left a 1 star review. I've not responded because I'm annoyed and weirded out
  • 11
that they've figure out where I work and my real name. I'm thinking about giving them a call and explaining
  • 12
the situation - "I have nothing to say about the goods you manufacture, but your conduct when representing the business. needs improving".
  • 13
Alternatively, say nothing and let them continue to sit on it - the oldest revenge in the book is letting a persons own paranoia eat at them.
  • 14
Happyl... • 1d ago. Well, the reviews are against an account so if you had your company gmail logged in, they got your e-mail as you put the review from that account. So no need to be weirded out here.

The owner may not be the same person as the driver, so they are regularly trying to find out what about their services you did not like.
  • 16
I think it is safe to respond to them saying the truth. Likely it may have been an employee driving dangerously.
  • 17
If I were a business owner I would want to know that an employee is driving my company vehicle like a pig.
  • 18
evilro... 23h ago. • I full on called one of those businesses once. Some 20 something guy with a little girl in his work
  • 19
truck driving like a madman through traffic, cutting people off, driving in the merge lane,
  • 20
giving me the finger for honking and challenging me to a fight motioning for me to pull over. I did

and he bailed as soon as he saw my car door open. So I called the number and reported an erratic driver using one of their company cars who challenged me to a fight for honking,
  • 22
then drove off like a b The owner called me back to say it was him driving and ask if I had a problem.
  • 23
"Yes, your driving." "Look, I lost my cool and I'm embarrassed I did that in front of my little sister."
  • 24
"You should be. She definitely deserves better." "I'm trying to apologize and you're being an "
  • 25
"You're apologizing in the first place because you were an . You don't get to decide how someone accepts
  • 26
your apology. Don't drive like that, especially with a child in the car." "Look, I'm sorry."
  • 27
"Okay. I accept your apology." "Well??" "Well what? You want a prize for apologizing? Don't
  • 28
drive like a moron in a vehicle with your phone number on it and you won't get these calls."
  • 29
"Whatever..." "She really does deserve better." call ended
