Customer service workers know that when something goes wrong while they're on shift, customers immediately start blaming them (regardless of the issues at hand). That's the rough thing about working in customer-facing positions: You always have a target on your back. Even if you were one of the most polite and accommodating employees a customer has ever had the pleasure of meeting, there are certain customers whose fuses are so short that they forget they're speaking to another human being.
A temper tantrum may have gotten entitled people what they wanted when they were children, but a grown man shouldn't be rewarded for his infantile and disrespectful behavior. The front desk employee in this story was working at her hotel when an alarm started blaring and guests went down to the lobby to see what was going on. After an investigation on a suspected gas leak, the hotel was asked to shut off their water heaters while they wait for someone to come fix it.
