Thanksgiving is hands down a ubiquitous holiday favorite. I think we can admit how much we love the warmth of the fireplace, decorative leaves everywhere, and the myriad of smells emitting from the kitchen. Your mother has been cooking up a storm since 5 am, turkey basting in the oven, potatoes boiling on the stove, pecan and pumpkin pies set aside for dessert. It's a magical holiday of sensory wonders, and you get to see the whole family too. 

Not having the privilege to be with your family for Thanksgiving can send someone into wistful longing for that warmth and love that the holiday provides. Everyone deserves to be with their family for the holiday, regardless of their occupation.

For the first time in two years, she has Thanksgiving off, but before she can get too excited, her coworkers tries to take her opportunity to celebrate.
