Every Day, This Adorable Cat Comes to a Shop to Trade a Leaf She Collected for a Piece of Fish, and Her Story Goes Viral

Look, it is true that lots of cats out there are not… the most intelligent creatures. Cats randomly run into walls and try to eat plastic. Cats get mad at closed doors and think that puzzles and egg cartons are comfy places to sit on. Cats fight ghosts that no one can see and try their hardest to stick their heads into places that they're not supposed to go into. Some cats are not very smart, and we love them not despite of that but because of that. 

On the other hand, some cats are insanely smart. Those cats are the ones that you should be the most wary of. They know what they are doing. They know how to deceive us. They know what they're allowed to do and not allowed to do, and they will find the loophole in every rule and use it for their own benefit. And once again… we love them not in spite of that but because of that.

    No, this picture is beyond adorable. The ears, the stance, the leaf. This is a hunter that is very proud of his catch who totally believes that it is worth many, many fishes. It's no wonder that this story went viral.

    And look, we know that there is speculation about whether this story is real or not, but that doesn't matter. We choose to believe. We believe both because we have seen cats (and dogs) do things like this in the past, and because… really, we need some wholesome pawsitivity in our loves right meow.

    Rainbows and Puppy Dogs @FlizardMarie I believe! cats can be smart, and replicate cause and effect behavior, human behavior. A friends cat watched him wipe his feet when he came in from outside. Soon, the cat was wiping its feet, too. Cutest thing!

    Heartbob @BobHarv25967401 ... I had a cat decades ago who loved potato chips. She would trade for them. I came back from a day's hunting with some squirrels (no, I no longer hunt). She saw them, took off into the woods and was back within minutes with a freshly killed squirrel, which she then sold me.

    Chapps @chapps My dog brings me a stick from our yard whenever she wants a special filled bone. She finds me wherever I am in the house, wiggles and growls with the stick, points to where she wants me to go ... which is always the cabinet with the bones. We then do the exchange.

    Michael_M @merlin_pen Not sure if real. But I do know cats are capable of this behavior. When my eldest wakes up and doesn't know where I am. He'll grab his favorite blue mouse and search for me. Not sure why. But it's very sweet when he does

    Rick @Djofull A while ago, my cat brought me a 'present' of a mouse, caught at the bottom of the garden, next to the compost heap. I thanked her, but declined it: now I feel guilty that I'd hurt her feelings - she was trying to feed me! My advice is to avoid that guilt & eat the squirrel
