TIFU by getting too drink at a work party S So last night we were celebrating a workmates leaving party. I (20F) and my friend were the first to arrive to the bar, we were there at 6 pm (bad idea, the party was supposed to start at 8 pm). So

we started drinking pretty early and I was hammered by the time everyone showed up, I also did a little wod which made it worse. 7 long islands and 2 shots in and I could barely stand. Dont remember 70% of what happened last night. But at work,

the stories Ive heard from my coworkers and the embarassment that came along with it was crazy. I was hitting on almost everyone at the party, including a married man in his late 30s who was accompanied by his pregnant wife. Showed

I feel and embarassed because that night has probably got people at my workplace thinking that im a stoner/alc who got no self control and lives a similar lifestyle, which really isnt me. I just come from a conservative family and tend to ic

Pristine Resident437 Once had a guy get so drink at an office party he walked up to the water cooler, unzipped, and relieved himself in the little catch tray. HR at Corporate would not fire him because he was a top salesman.

Logik_in_theory. Listen to 50 Cents book Hustle Harder. He explains why drinking, especially at work functions, is a bad idea. I would get in front of the rumors and apologize to your coworkers that you offended and then redeem yourself by not repeating the mistake. Be well, OP.

WelcomeFormer Saw a video about a month ago, a girl that was sitting on the floor in front of a toilet splashing her hands in the water. At least your coworkers didn't post it on the internet for the world to see and at least you weren't that drink lol could be worse. But maybe get everyone coffee and donuts and hope you don't called into HR.

it's just my immediate team members or whatever chilling somewhere else. It's much more enjoyable watching someone else become the cause of "the incident" rather than myself Imao.

Consistent Week_8531 I work in the wine and spirits business and blacked out at an event early in my career. I managed to keep my job but the embarrassment was enough that I never ever had more than a drink at a work event again and always excuse myself before people get wild. If you keep this job, I'm pretty sure you'll never do this again.

BellaStark Ah, the classic tale of "Work Party Gone Wild." Sounds like you inadvertently signed up for the all-inclusive shame package- drinks, drama, and an impromptu dealer debut. On the bright side, you've basically maxed out the

embarrassment meter, so it's all uphill from here! Maybe pitch the next work event as a tea party? Just a thought. Here's to future parties with less floor- hugging and more dignity- holding!

Stattlingrad For my part, my 1st work's christmas do in a 'proper job' when I was 22 - I'd only started there in September so didn't know people very well, and I know I drink more when I'm nervous. Ended up being sat on a table for the meal with the

a table for the meal with the head of sales, and I did not choose to decline the insane amount of drinks he was ordering. Its a blur after that, but I know I was out of it at the next venue- I definitely hit on a co-worker, otherwise made a fool of myself, and was probably

onto the livelier venues where I know I'll feel uncomfortable and thus drink more. So yes, the shame is real, but I just want to say its not necessarily the end of the world.

over a tray full of empty stein glasses. Was yelling " you" over and over to my coworker who works in a different department for some reason. Never even really talked to that guy before. Didn't even realize it until the next day when he told me about it and said he found it hilarious. I still work there 11 years later.
