Karen customer refuses to listen to retail worker's 60-day policy: 'I want to see a manager now'

Retail work can make you question everything you thought you knew about customers. These workers have to put up with lines of questioning that are unfathomably dumb, and the worst part is that they're only making minimum wage as they deal with the Karens of the world. 

The customer is certainly not "always right." No matter how much retail stores like to tout their customer service skills, some customers simply cannot be reasoned with. They get so upset that they totally block out any answers that aren't what they want to hear. If they want a discount, and the cashier tells them that it's not possible, that person will fight tooth and nail to explain why the cashier is actually wrong. At some point, a manager might have to step in, but by that point, the customer has already spent ages loudly explaining their reasoning to the cashier. This customer, who ventured out on Christmas Eve to bother the retail workers, couldn't even get simple facts correct. And if you read what commenters said about u/Zestyclose_Act_8630's story, you'll learn that this person isn't the only one dealing with impossible customers.

    WritingPrestig... I believe it. I have a coworker who believes that 1:00-4:00 is 4 hours. She even counted the hours on her fingers to prove it to me. "1, 2, 3, 4." She could not be convinced otherwise.

    Math isn't everyone's strong suit, as a few commenters noted. This customer seemed particularly set in her ways, though. The original poster noted that they literally pulled up their phone calendar to demonstrate to the customer that she was wrong. But of course, she had no interest in hearing about that: she just wanted to be told she was right.

Anyway, in a case that came before the one we were there for, the judge asked the person why he didn't pay his rent.     Blood_Edge I would've pulled up a calendar and showed her, asking her how many times in a year does 60 days even blod over into a 3rd month. If she can't even do that, I would've just ignored her. The worst she can do is complain I'm better at math and refused to explain further how I'm right.
