‘You chose to have 5 children, deal with it’: Woman Puts Sister in Her Place After Constantly Complaining About the Stresses of Motherhood, Causing Sister to Feel Isolated Before the Holidays

In past times, we would be lucky to live past the age of 30. Life as we know it didn't exist for hundreds of years for humans. Now that we have the luxuries we have, will we ever be able to go back? And better yet, should we even consider it? There's a slew of things to think about when it comes to what technology and modernity have given us in the past 50 years or so. Not only can we listen to techno music in big blaring headphones to guarantee our early deafness, but we can live much longer, and choose whether we want to have children or not. 

In this Reddit thread, it revolves around two sisters. One of which, the original poster (OP) is college educated and without children. Her sister got pregnant at 18-years-old and decided to keep having children. She's 29 and married with 5 children. OP won't let her lamentations get to her though.

    Social media is such a ubiquitous platform. It's a platform where everyone's voice can be heard, no matter how uneducated someone is, how insane, or how stinky their opinion is. Everyone has the right and ability to speak out on public forums, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and anything else. Sometimes this can be informative, entertaining, or enlightening. But sometimes, it just allows for ridiculous statements to be heard by the masses. Now, who else disagrees with "society hates mothers"?

    Our parents gave us the talk at 16 and access to contraceptives. They encouraged us to get an education before settling down. My parents are pretty liberal aside from the fact that they don't think children should be born outside of wedlock. My sister chose to have all of these kids. She could've gotten an abortion at 18 but she wanted a baby.

    NoZookeeperg….. • 13h ago • NTA - it isn't just about the pregnancy at 18 or even if she had choose to have a second kid close thereafter. There are many teen mothers who get an education later, or start part time work or a hobby after their kids start

    school. But she waited until the first kid was in school to have a second, and then waited until she was your age to start the next 3 (soon to be 4). So this is a long series of decisions (most involving not using birth control), majority of which she made when older than you.
