Woman tricked into surrogacy by married man wins legal battle after he and wife attempt to take full custody of the babies: 'He told me he was divorced'

Welcome, gossiping goddesses. Having children and becoming a parent is an important milestone for many people. However, some couples simply cannot produce life on their own. Some individuals have medical conditions that prevent them from reproducing, would put their lives at risk if they were to attempt it, or find that pregnancy is a medical impossibility for their bodies. In such cases, surrogacy is an option. However, it is an incredibly expensive process — totaling to around $100, 000.

In our story today, a nefarious couple attempts to evade the cost of surrogacy. The husband pretends to be single while courting our protagonist. However, she finds out only after she is pregnant that he has been married all along. While already despicable, the situation did not become particularly unusual until after his wife kept insisting to be present at birth, after which the couple attempted to take full custody of the twin babies. The more this couple attempts to worm themselves into the twins' lives, the harder they are rejected. The twins may be quite young, but kids are incredibly perceptive. They probably get terrible vibes from the couple that is constantly trying to pull them away from their own mother.

When the wife started insisting that she wanted to be present at the twins' birth is when our protagonist should have started setting boundaries — both legal and emotional. I'm surprised the couple never suggested separating the twins and keeping one each.
