Being a dog mom is not all it cracks up to be. Yeah, it looks great from the surface—you get a cute pup to cuddle with all day. Who wouldn't want that? But in reality, you're basically your dog's personal assistant. Need a belly rub immediately? Sure thing. Another walk after the two you've already taken today? Why not. And the moment you sit down to relax is exactly when they decide they need your attention, a snack, or both (probably both). 

I used to have a dog named Millie who had everyone wrapped around her paw. She had the cutest puppy dog eyes and knew exactly how to use them. And don't even think about crossing her—she'd pee in your room if she didn't get her way. Literally, she knew exactly whose room was whose and used it as a weapon. But despite her sass, I loved her endlessly.

  • Why is it that we’re always thinking about the next dog? It’s a real disease, honestly. If I could afford ten dogs, I absolutely would. But in reality, most of us can’t.
