Howdy, friends. We all know that sometimes you adopt the cat, and other times the cat adopts you. Just like the wand picks the wizard in Harry Potter, sometimes the cats go through the cat distribution system to find themselves a hooman when they need them the most. It's impurrtant for us to tell you that you have no choice in the matter. If a cat chooses you, you're stuck with it. There is no fighting the CDS, and definitely no arguing with the cat. The sooner you accept that, the sooner your and your new cat's life will be purrfectly pleasurable.

Well, one day a wholesome dad was mucking around in his car and his engine started purring. No, like, literally purring. He popped the hood open and found two tiny kittens hiding inside. He had a dog already and wasn't sure if he was going to keep them. However, the cats said otherwise. They quickly adopted him and forced him to buy them cat trees for every room and an automated litter box. Do you still think he had any choice in the matter?

  • Yeah, 15 to 20 years sounds about right. That sounds like the purrfect amount of time to decide if they're staying or not. You should probably buy them some new toys in the meantime, at least two cat sweaters that they're prrrobably going to hate, and lots of treatos. Emphasis on the treatos.

  • It's true. Honestly, you could wake up one day and find all your bags packed and sitting on the sidewalk while your cats have already started redecorating. You have to win their approval, or else you might need to be adopted yourself!

    They have a spreadsheet into which they are entering your efforts regarding toys, treats, heating, bedding, veterinary care, cuddles and quality/quantity of food and serving times.
