"AITA for Telling My Husband I Won’t Cook for His Mom Anymore?"

If someone is critiquing another person's cooking time after time, you'd think that they'd choose to stop eating whatever meals that person cooks. I mean, that's the logical thing to do, right? However, if you'd like to make a grand spectacle and embarrass your son's wife, you can simply keep critiquing her meals and wait until she explodes with anger at you. This is very much instigative behavior on the MIL's part and the woman is right to be fed up with her MIL's entitlement. There's nothing worse than somebody telling you how to do your job, and the woman refuses to put food on the table for someone who wouldn't care less (but probably still CLEANS the plate).

Woman stops cooking for entitled mother-in-law after she says ‘I guess this is edible’ about her meal, husband takes mother's side: ‘I’ve bitten my tongue for years’
With our in-laws, we're expected to keep the peace. Don't ever let your guard down completely, or you might be disappointed by how comfortable some of your "chosen" family might get once you give them any reason to say whatever they want to you. Manners are not virtuous, but rather learned… In this story's case, this woman's mother-in-law hasn't learned enough about how to talk to folks who go out of their way to do something nice.
There's a blunt way of saying something, and there's a kind way of saying something. Usually, with people you care about, you want to beat around the bush just a little to ensure they don't take whatever sentiment you're trying to get across, to the heart. A lot of people will excuse older folks' actions because of age, but I think that's a load of bologna… It doesn't take a village to be polite! The woman in the story knows this to be true, so she infers that her MIL is choosing to be impolite and somewhat controlling. So, instead of cooking her another meal, she vows to never make her a plate ever again. As if matters couldn't get more complicated, she seems to have a husband problem, too.
