There's nothing quite like family to remind you that love is a multifaceted thing, especially when that love is expressed through constant criticism, unsolicited advice, and an endless array of reasons why you're not doing life right. 

It's like a never-ending game of "find the subtle put-down," where everyone gets a trophy for effort, but nobody wins any prizes for tact. And if you thought things were bad in the real world, just wait until someone reconnects on Facebook or realizes Instagram can be used for more than just sharing cat pictures. 

Suddenly, what was once a distant but pleasant acquaintance becomes a daily reminder that your family, the same people who life choices made you they way you are, still think they have insights on how you should live your life, or, live life in general. I mean really, Aunt Susan? Do you think you can go around offering dating advice with YOUR romantic history?
