Everyone loves the 80s. Even people that didn't experience the decade are obsessed with it these days. But was it really all that? It's easy to look at the past with rose-colored glasses. As we move through life, the brain naturally files memories. The better ones tend to stick around, and the mundane or more unpleasant details are downplayed.

However, anyone that grew up in the 80s knows that it really was just the best time to be alive. Technology was advanced and convenient, but it wasn't yet as moreish as it is now. You could phone a friend from your landline, but your availability wasn't broadcast to your contacts 24/7. You could watch movies with amazing special effects, and you knew it wasn't all made on a green-screen. You could listen to a wide variety of music and be proud of your collection of CDs, tapes, and records instead of just reposting your Spotify Wrapped.
