Wholesome person finds a "decaying" and sad cat outside, decides to bring him in and adopt him, now he's the biggest softie: 'He loves everyone'

Not every stray cat is meant to become a home kitty. Some of them are too wild. Some of them are too used to or even enjoy the thrill of the outside world. Even the ones who are rescued, who can no longer face the crazy world on their own, sometimes have a very hard time adapting and learning to trust humans. Not every stray cat is meant to be a home one, but some of them definitely are meant for it. 

Some cats get sick of being strays, so they just… come up to their chosen human, tell them that they want to be adopted, and whoosh, just like that, it happens, and they have a home. We call that the cat distribution system. And that was definitely what was happening for this cat. The stray cat that was rescued in this story was definitely ready for his outdoor life to be over. He was "decaying" out there. All he needed was a little love, and now, he's the biggest, softest cuddlebug.

    Honestly this big boy is just a patate, he loves everyone. He was looking super decrepit before I brought him in, I asked the vet to test him for FIV, positive. Guess who's never going back out in the wild to a stressful life? His name is Billy and he's really round. He has a tortie sister named Beeps― and she's not pleased to not be the only child anymore-but she tolerates him!

  • All they need is a little bit of love, and just look at that difference. You can see it in his face. He is so much happier and calmer now. In that first picture, he looks like he's been through so much, like he's so tired, and now… Now, we can just see the endless shenanigans that are about to come shining in his eyes.

    Frozchx OP Actually, he didn't! I initially brought him to a shelter for urgent help as he had a very infected head wound that didn't look good at all. The shelter lacked proper organization and was a nightmare to deal with. They wouldn't give him back and wanted to send him "on a farm,"

    stating he was an outdoor cat, despite my clear willingness to adopt him. After two long weeks of back and forth, I finally got a call to pick him up. I immediately went, and to my surprise, they had neutered him and clipped his ear. The ear clip wasn't necessary, and I think they probably just got mixed up. I was just happy to see Billy again, so I never made a big deal of it, but I've been avoiding that shelter like the plague since then.

  • She's going to come around just like every sibling does, just wait for it. She may be a jealous little shadow now, but before you know it, your cuddle time with her is going to turn into her cuddle time with him. And jealous as you will be, you will still be so happy to see them getting along so well.

    Frozchx OP Honestly, when he loaf up, he looks MASSIVE. But he's really not that heavy, haha! Although he did gain quite a bit of weight since he doesn't have to hunt for his food anymore lolll
