'I'm still not able to sleep by myself': Every single night for 10 months, the kitten that this man rescued cuddles him fiercely, prompting others to show off their own velcro cats

People talk about aloof cats all the time - about how cats are standoffish and don't show affection, about how they don't really care about us, about how they tolerate us only because we feed them. We, as cat owners, know that it is not true, of course. We know that cats show affection in unique ways, in small ways. We know that it is our job to read our cat's expressions of love for what they are and appreciate them in whatever form they come. Sometimes. Sometimes, it's like that. 

Other times, your cat is the biggest cuddle bug, and it will fight the laptop for its spot on your lap. Oh, velcro cats. They don't get talked about enough. All the haters talk about the cats that are more cautious with their expressions of love, but they forget that some cats, once they get comfortable with you, are just as openly loving as any dog could be. And yes, having a cat like that really is just as pawsome as you think it is.

  • Sigh, we have one of those. A velcro kitty. We didn't know back then whether our kitty would remain as physically affectionate when she became older, so we cherished every moment, thinking that it might never happen again. She stayed velcro-y, thankfully, and even if they all do, cherish these momenta anyway. There is nothing quite like a tiny fluffy creature headbutting you every night to boost your serotonin.

  • Be honest - it's just as pawsome to have it happen when your cat is fully grown and it feels like you have about two and a half trucks sitting on your chest and shoving their face into your face. Just as pawsome.
