Mechanic flirts with customer, customer's partner discovers text messages: 'He should be fired for this'

Is this person really being overprotective of their GF? They're not sure, but the internet had a pretty definitive answer for them! 

If you're an employee and you spot a gorgeous customer, you may be tempted to hit on them. Or it could be the opposite scenario: you're a shopper and you see a stunning employee who you'd love to ask out on a date. It's an awkward situation to be in regardless. You never want to ask out an employee who's on the clock, because for all you know, the "flirting" is just them being polite to a customer. They might feel put on the spot or unable to refuse the date request, thinking that they'll be penalized if they talk back to a customer. 

This dude did the opposite, though. As an employee, he boldly asked out a customer in a rather unconventional way. The woman's BF found out and had a few concerns about this, which you can read all about in the texts and comments down below.

    Would I be in the wrong if I contacted Walmart about this? I do, but at the same time I don't want the guy to lose his job. I just don't appreciate how he invaded her privacy, got her number, and proceeded to text her. I'm mainly worried that if he feels this comfortable doing it to her, how many times has he done this to other women.

    I don't care to be conformational, I'm not worried about it in the slightest. But it bothers me that her privacy was invaded. At the same time, I think it'll be easier just to laugh it off.

    He was polite, but as he mentions, "this might seem weird." Yes sir, it is weird of you to invade someone's privacy by snooping through their information to find their number.

    Honestly? I know this seems minor, but it's the type of thing that can escalate if no one addresses it. I'd go ahead and report him, because if this is innocent, he'll learn a lesson, and if it's not, well...

    This is not the type of employee who can be trusted with customer contact information. It's most likely a breach of protocol that could get him fired. If the partner reports him, it's the mechanic's own bad choices that led to him getting fired.

    Just imagine what this employee could do with other sensitive information

    Dogs Ducks A personal finance guy at my bank did this. I reported him and he was let go. I was legitimately scared because he had access to all of my information and accounts.

    If he found her phone number, he could also possibly find her license, home address, or other sensitive information that he definitely should not be snooping through.

    Th... NOR This needs to be reported to Walmart. I understand you don't want the guy losing his job. You have to take into consideration on how many times he has done this to other women he changed their oil in their cars. Than again it will be up to Walmart if they are going to do

    anything. Your call. You can also laugh it out like you stated but this behavior has to be reported as the employee will continue to do it. Stuff like this does not happen a lot or is not very common. Update: Did not expect this to blow up so going to add my comments from previous comments.

    Please report it to Walmart. Contact their district office or contact the ethical line. Phone numbers are able to be looked up online and track the address of the phone number is attached to. If you see anyone outside peeping at your address or in your room contact the police.

    withering_vitality He SHOULD be fired for this. Imagine all the other women he's creeped on like this rhat don't have someone to stand up for then. You should turn him in for the sake of all the women that go there and don't deserve some creep grabbing their number and messaging them
