The impulse to tweet is the same impulse to say a joke at a party. You had an idea fly into your head, and for whatever reason, you decided it was worth saying out loud. Maybe you thought it was funny. Maybe you thought it was relevant. Maybe you thought it would endear you to your peers. Maybe you thought someone powerful would see it and say "I think you're brilliant and I'm going to make you rich and famous."

As half-deluded as these feelings are, it's true that they motivate us. Sometimes we need a little delusion in the tank or else we would never get anything done. We need blind faith that this thing (whatever the thing is) is going to be the thing that changes everything. That this latest venture is going to rocket us into fame, fortune, international renown, or whatever it is that you're looking for.
