That's right, the birthday girl found herself sobbing away the night, not because of a great emotional release, but because her partner decided to gift her with the gift of silence. Not just any silence - deliberate, stony, "I'm ignoring you" silence that said more than any words could ever.

Perfecting the silent treatment is a tricky craft. It's like a poker player holding their cards close to their chest, except instead of cards, it's emotions. And instead of a game, it's someone's feelings. And in this particular game of Guess Why I'm Mad, the birthday girl got played, and left wondering what on Earth could have possibly caused such a drastic change from fun and games to silent standoff.
