Mom stands up for 29-year-old daughter who still lives at home after grandmother demands to kick her out: 'She pays her fair share in rent'

Do you think there's a problem with living at home when you're 29? In today's economy, many adult kids are probably living with their parents at much older ages than that. But as long as you're not freeloading, it's not the worst thing in the world. I know plenty of people who've lived with their parents at various times during their 20s to build savings for a house, pay off debt, or simply make ends meet. Honestly, with how absurdly high rent is these days, moving back in with my mom is starting to look better and better.

But our grandparents don't always get it. And it's hard to blame them. They grew up in a different era where they were married by 20, owned a house by 22, and had three kids by 25. They haven't experienced being broke like we have. They'd probably lose their minds if they knew we spend $8 on a latte and pay $1,200 a month for a 600 square foot studio. So when one mom was pressured by her own mother to kick out her 29-year-old daughter, who paid rent and helped out around the house, things got pretty awkward.
