‘They finally fired me!!!’: Hotel employee celebrates being let go, manager tries to intimidate, but now she has plausible reasons to take them to court

If you have ever been stuck working in a toxic environment, then you know the allure of trying to stick it out so you can make your exit from the job even more epic. When the management practices are so deplorable, that you start to document them and quickly realize that they might even be illegal. This is when you try to get fired, so then you get to collect unemployment and possibly even a heftier check because now you have all this proof of law-bending. Oh baby, that's when you have them right by the throats! Usually, however, it is not losing your sanity over, so people tend to quit before it even gets to that point, which is definitely what we would encourage. 

 

That being said, we love to see justice served when someone is strong enough to hang out for that long! In this instance, it is a hotel employee who was just piling up the wrongdoings of her employer. When they finally fired her, the authorities were even on her side!

  • After countless instances of this workplace being horrible, this employee was already holding onto her sanity as a thread. Once a horrible storm hit and she was forced to stay in the hotel for several nights, even when she was off duty, which was her final straw. She said she felt like “livestock for slaughter” and when she was fired finally, she was actually happy. The authorities were even on her side and suggested several courses of action to get her the justice she deserved.

  • LibraryMouse4321 I hope they get what they deserve, and then some.I hope they get stuck paying fines and payments to you from their own pockets, not just from the business. You should have sold your room to a displaced person for cash and slept in a closet. I can't believe that they charged you for a room when you were stuck at work without being able to leave.

Jenny8675-309 OP The justice and Law is the revenge as the financial controller who is also the assistant GM said on March 13th 2025 at 3:12pm, and i quote "The Law Does Not Apply Here". When i tried to talk to him about wage theft and other illegal stuff they have been doing and presented a printed copy of the Employment Standards Act.
