Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. Dating isn't easy. If there's one thing almost everyone can agree on that is one of the most painful life experiences, it's dealing with a breakup. It's not just innocuous or petty. Just because it's a ubiquitous experience doesn't take away its significance, and how traumatic the scenario can be sometimes. It's encompassed by grief, it's the unfurling of your feelings, your life support, and the daily activities that regulate your normality in the world. Everyone is greatly affected by breakups, and it's not a pain to diminish.

With breakups, there's an almost competitive nature to pain. People start comparing their heartbreaks to others, measuring how long the couple dated, if they lived together, and how the couple ultimately broke up. In the story below, it's a heavy case. The man breaks up with his girlfriend of 9 years, and she doesn't get closer until much later. He finally admits to her that he ended it for the chance to date a new coworker, only to be rejected by her. The worst part is that he comes crawling back to his ex.

This guy is really the definition of audacious. Where does he find the audacity to not only break up with his girlfriend of 9 years when he doesn't even know yet if the other girl is into him, then he tells her this horrible story and asks to get back together? What an idiot.
