"AITA for cancelling my wedding out of the blue for a rumor about my fiancée and my best friend?"

Not quite the reaction you want from your future MIL.
I'm not sure which is worse, this MIL, or this one: Boyfriend's mom calls his girlfriend a temporary addition to the family during birthday toast, so she pays her own bill and leaves for good: 'She looked directly at me and smiled'

Days after? Girl, maybe you should take a step back for a minute and listen to the red flags.

Woman cancels wedding after fiancé cheated with her best friend and tried to cover it up with a proposal, but his own sister couldn’t keep the secret any longer: 'She said it wasn't fair to me'
There's messy, and then there's this level of betrayal. In the age of public proposals and viral engagements, it's easy to get swept up in the romance of it all. But committing to a lifelong marriage with another person is a whole other story. And when your gut tells you something isn't right, you should always listen to it. For one woman, everything seemed perfect until her fiancé popped the question and suddenly everyone around her started acting weird. His mom was unusually quiet when she heard the news, his sister couldn't make eye contact, and even her best friend (who should've been thrilled) was quick to change the subject. Something was definitely up.
Thankfully, his sister couldn't live with the guilt and ended up spilling the tea during an appointment. An appointment with a wedding coordinator, we should add. Better late than never, I guess. Were they all seriously going to let her go through with it?
