Kermit

Hello. Since Kermit has attracted so many followers, I'm gonna take you guys on a photo timeline of when I found him on the street to now. Alright, this is Kermit, July 23rd, 2024. When I swiped him off the street, I just went yoink! Um, and then he was mine. Right, right. I fed him and then this is on his body. Like all this disgusting stuff. He looks so gross, but so cute. Is a mixture of p0op, wet cat food and fleas. So I took him to the vet the next day. They tested his p0op, they tested literally everything. They did everything they could for how old he was. And basically what happened is they said, 'oh, he's full of worms,' which you can see by all of his little blow. Right. So he's full of worms. And he's got his teeth, like, he had some teeth growing in and he didn't want milk. So she's like, 'he's weaned.' So he's about three weeks, maybe four weeks old. So I just count July 23rd as day zero. Right? Makes it easy for me cause I genuinely don't know how old he is here. This is Kermit in September, he is still really tiny but you can see with his like, eyes and his face that he is a little bit older. He still had his baby teeth. They fully came in. So he had all his baby teeth, right? And something to note is that Kermit right here is around, I think, like, a pound. Like, he's straight up, like, one pound. And he had fleas on him when I found him. And it took a really long time to get those fleas off because I couldn't give him tick treatment because he is so small and so tiny, and he has a compromised immune system. Right around October or so, we switched vets, because I was like, ‘he needs more specialized things.’ When we switch vets, first vet appointment there, they tested his po0p, and they were like, ‘he has Giardia,’ right? So he was on that medication until that went away, and then he still was not growing. The vet was like, 'we don't really know. We don't. You picked him up off the street, we can't test his genetics. We don't really know what he is. So, um, let's look at his internals. Let's see if there's anything going on in there that could hurt him. Like, if there's any liver shunts, there's any this, there's any that.' So Kermit got bl0od taken first and there was no anomalies on his bl0od tests, so that was really good. But, like, as a safety measure, they were like, 'let's just do the ultrasound.' So Kermit had an ultrasound in late October, and it came back that everything inside was clear, besides the fact that according to the ultrasound, there were no man parts. Right?
So to conclude this, Kermit is now about [9+] months old, I would say. This is him a couple days ago after he went viral on my TikTok, which was crazy. So now he's a famous little cat in my family. He is still under two pounds. He has not even reached that mark yet. And we're working to see what it is, but right now we just know he's gonna be a tiny cat forever. We have things set up in our house so he doesn't have to put a lot of force with, like, jumping down or even jumping up on things, cause he's a cat and he likes to climb. The most noteworthy things that he doesn't really do is he doesn't really groom his face a lot. I think that's because he was never really groomed a lot as a kitten. So we brush and we wipe and like, I literally groom him and he licks me as I groom him. So he's just a little… He's a little silly. And then the last thing is that he gets sick a lot. Like, you can see it in his eyes. Like right now, I know this is not sick, Kermit. Like, this is just his eye gunk that he gets like every day and then we wipe it off with a warm compress and he's totally fine. But he gets sick a lot, and so then we go back to the vet and we figure it out.
So that's the story of Kermit. He's [nine] months old and still the smallest thing ever, it's crazy. But I love him. For size reference [this is] how small he actually is—these are three little plushies… I thought it was funny that he is not bigger. Like, they're huge. It's literally bigger than his head. And they're small!
This is tiny. He is tiny.
