Mid-30s couple head towards divorce after Mother’s Day dinner turns out to be instant cup noodle ramen despite wife’s clear expectations for the holiday: "How does a grown human act like this?"

In my shared apartment with my partner, there are certain chores that he does and others that I take care of. I typically dust the shelves, clean the floors, and generally keep the home tidy. My boyfriend is the one who does laundry, cleans the bathroom, and more often does the dishes. I hate doing the chores that he does, and he's not very fond of mine. 

This arragement works because we've been honest from the start about our likes and dislikes; neither of us engaged in weaponized incompetence to get the other to do the things we don't like. I didn't have to pretend like I don't know how to do laundry, and he didn't have to do a shoddy job at dusting for us to know how to divvy up our household tasks.

In our story today, a new mom realizes that her husband has been using weaponized incompetence against her throughout their whole marriage. His complete lack of care, love, and respect are on full display on Mother's Day.
