24-year-old college dropout constantly asking father for money gets tough love when he refuses unless she goes back to school: “I’m still figuring it out”

Hey there, ladies and gentlemen of the internet. In this day and age, education doesn't mean what it used to. It used to be a mark of a person who spent their early adulthood being a student, they worked hard, learned tons, and now can have a leg up in the world. These days, not only does having a college diploma put you nowhere near success or having a leg up in life or jobs, but you can have your college diploma but still be nearly illiterate! It's crazy how low the bar is these days for school, but that's besides the point.

College isn't free, and it's a lot of payments on parents or loans to make that happen for someone. If your parent wants you to go to college and they're willing to pay for it, it's probably the right move to go. You're not losing anything, and you're fulfilling something that won't be offered to you later. Despite college not being what it used to, it still offers more opportunities than not.

This father is right. Not only did he sacrifice himself for her and move to a different country for her to get a better life, but he's helping her immensely. If she wants to be an adult then she can pay for her own food and rent. She's pretty spoiled, and she should be more grateful.
